Why The Latest Snapchat Update Has The Internet Going TF Off

And one angry Snapchat fan said she was "honestly so disgusted" over the update.

The update essentially shuffles around core features, like putting Snapchat Stories from your friends on the Chat screen (to the left of the camera).

These ephemeral stories appeared for 24 hours before they are permanently deleted from the messenger. Yet, in addition, the Snapchat Stories will also be available there.

The forced update has left users furious, many taking to Twitter to express their frustrations.

The revised app has come with chages in Discover feature, it has a personalised news feed and an auto-advance feature taking users from one story directly to the another.

Snapchat users now have the ability to create their own personalized Snapchat Lenses and Filters, which you can buy through Snapchat's website or application. "If you have any questions about the new design let us know!" Now uninstall the new update and plug your smartphone in to a PC. Didn't even want it but somehow me and my friends got it anyways.

Even then, this is a speculative method based on old Android forum posts that may or may not work with newer versions of the OS. If you force quit the app and re-open Snapchat, you'll get the redesigned version again.

Note: Rooted Android smartphones will have the Snapchat APK in /data/app/ folders.

"With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more hard", the Australian petition, which has garnered more than 66,000 signatures as of Thursday afternoon, reads.

On the Discover page - seen with a rightward swipe - you can see content produced by brands, publications or professional content creators.

Things are a little more fiddly on iOS.

If you own an iPhone or iPad, you can download the older version of Snapchat via iTunes.

First, delete Snapchat from your iPhone by holding on the icon until it begins to bounce around - then hit the X in the top left-hand corner.

Now connect your iPhone to your Windows or Mac computer, open iTunes and select your device.

Do not sync your iPhone just yet - but find Apps in the dropdown menu in iTunes.

In there, select Apps in the sidebar and look for Snapchat, select install and then sync your phone.
