Antonio Conte urges Chelsea to exploit Barcelona's 'weakness' without the ball

The referee of Chelsea's fateful Champions League semi-final meeting with Barcelona in 2009 has admitted he made a series of mistakes at Stamford Bridge, accepting that he "cannot be proud" of his infamous performance.

And Fabregas has no doubt Iniesta remains a fine player, especially as he has rarely had to rely on physical qualities in his career.

"We are back in a good form, with confidence before this huge game as you say against Barcelona", Pedro said at Stamford Bridge.

There have been four Chelsea wins to three for Barca during that time and although the Blues have made a poor attempt at defending their league title, Pique believes Antonio Conte's men should not be underestimated. We have to try to, I repeat, have the flawless game.

'This is a different opponent.

'We must have great respect but at the same time we must be excited to play this type of game and take on this type of challenge.

Fabregas is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: "They try to put the first pressure very high, always work towards the ball".

"I hope that we maintain this tradition but we are speaking about a fantastic player", Conte said.

'It won't be easy because we know very well this player.

"We are talking about one of the best players in the world but, for sure, we have to work together, work with the team and not only with one player to try and stop him".

Chelsea prepared for the last-16 match by coasting to a 4-0 victory against Hull City in the FA Cup on Friday night, with Pedro getting the second goal. "Because I think that when we feel this type of challenge to man-mark [a player], Messi can become very unsafe", Conte said.

"It is important for confidence because after two bad defeats for sure the confidence wasn't up". Now we must continue.
