Lakers rookie set to return Friday after 15-game absence

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, who will return Friday after missing significant time with an injury, called for college players to be paid in response to the report. Following the team's 124-102 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center, Lonzo met with members of the media in front of his locker while wearing a t-shirt with an image of himself on it. However, LA did lose the last three games of the first half with Isaiah Thomas on the roster.

Walton said the rookie will be on limited minutes after the long layoff and he still hasn't decided if Ball will start or come off the bench. Playing in 36 games this year, the rookie has averaged 10.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game. "Nothing restricting. I could feel it, but the doc says I can get no worse". "They went through a stretch where they weren't scoring, but they were getting wide open looks, and that's all you can really ask for". The rookie point guard has been out since January 13 with a sprained MCL, and a lot has changed since then.
