Rob Gronkowski hints at possible WWE career

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said that after taking several weeks to ponder retirement and consider a career in professional wrestling or acting, Gronkowski has made a decision to play football again. He did discuss moving to another venue-WWE for one, maybe Hollywood-but the belief now is that those things will come after his football career.

According to the NFL Network, Rob Gronkowski is expected to play for the Patriots in the upcoming 2018 season. The Patriots star announced he was considering retirement following New England's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

- Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 28, 2018 " As far as I can tell, the Patriots have not been informed of anything official, and they may not be.

Gronkowski's future in the National Football League was unclear due to numerous circumstances. He said he was having more fun on the field than at any point in his career, but his frustrations from training camp still lingered. The tight end probably needs a new one.

Gronk has two years left on a six-year extension signed in 2012 and is owed $17 million total in base salary over the next two seasons.

Benjamin was unable to build or even match those numbers the following season after a preseason injury put him on the shelf for the entire year.

Additionally, Gronkowski's comments during a press conference following his team's, the New England Patriots', loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, have served to further fuel speculation regarding him possibly transitioning from the National Football League to WWE in the near future. What was a surprise though was Rob Gronkowski's involvement at the event and the subsequent vibes between him and Rozay. "He seriously considered stepping away from the game in training camp", Curran continued.

The Patriots have strongly relied on tight ends within their offensive game plan in recent years.
