Emre Can: "I haven't signed for any other club"

Emre Can:

"I think this year we belong there to be honest, it should not be a big surprise".

Roberto Firmino insists Liverpool are ready to take on all comers in the Champions League quarter-finals - and would relish an all-English showdown.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Dragons from French side Lorient in a loan deal last January, lasted 68 minutes at Anfield as Porto aimed at overturning a 5-0 defeat they suffered at home in the first leg.

But whoever they get in next Friday's draw, which is free from geographical or group stage restrictions, will not concern them.

"The next round will be hard, seven other very good teams, maybe four of them are from England, which doesn't make it easier".

"If it will be a different line-up to Saturday I don't know, but only because we want to win the game. We feel we have played well against the top English clubs and shown we can beat them".

The in-form Egypt global had one angled shot easily saved as his run of scoring in successive matches ended at seven but, with a 24th European quarter-final in the bag (14 in this competition), his talents will be required for a more important occasion. "We're not looking too far ahead and want to put in a good performance and get through tomorrow night".

"I haven't signed for any other club, I'm just focused on this season".

"This year we belong there to be honest, it should not be a big surprise and the next round will be very hard, there are seven other very good teams involved, so maybe five or four are from England, it doesn't make it easier to be honest".

"There is a good development in Liverpool at the moment, it is a nice moment, but if you don't show up in a competition like the Champions League then no-one realises it", he said. They are all good teams [left in the draw], but I don't think it matters to us.

The last time Liverpool reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 2009, Rafa Benitez was still in charge, but they have flitted in and out of European football's premier club competition since then. "You have to play against the big teams".
