Tennessee shoots the lights out in big win over Arkansas

Barford scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half and pulled down 10 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Freshman Daniel Gafford added 16 points and also matched his career-best with 12 rebounds, keying an effort that saw the Razorbacks outrebound the Gators 43-28. Arkansas tied the game at 10 when Barford made a 3-pointer less than 4 1/2 minutes into the half, but a second Koulechov 3 regained control for the Gators.

The Gators (20-12), coming off an Elite Eight season, are a safe bet to earn an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament on the strength of a schedule that included wins over Gonzaga and Cincinnati followed by a third-place finish in the SEC.

The senior, a first-team All-SEC selection, scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half to help sixth-seeded Arkansas (22-10) hold off a furious late charge from the Gamecocks. "We've been shooting not very good this year, but when it counted we were pretty good tonight". Koulechove leads in rebounds with 6.5 while Chiozza tops in assists with 6.1 per game. However, the Vols were able to keep the lead and avoid the Hogs' comeback by clutch performances from starters Admiral Schofield (16 points, seven rebounds), Grant Williams (12 points, five rebounds), and Kyle Alexander (12 points, seven boards). Defensively, Arkansas yields 75.7 points per game against the opposing teams. It wasn't just the number of points Barford scored that was so impressive, but rather when - and how - he scored them. Barford had five points in the run, capping it with a 3-pointer at the 5:58 mark for a 62-48 advantage.

The Razorbacks, seeded sixth in the field, held off SC to reach Friday's round and now face second-seeded Tennessee in Saturday's 2:30 p.m. semifinal. If Arkansas wins, they will play in the championship at noon (CDT) on Sunday. The Razorbacks have won eight of their last 10 games.

After a 3-pointer by Mike Okauru with 4:54 to play to take a 29-22 lead, 7 points, the Gators went scoreless for the rest of the first half as Arkansas finished it out with an 8-0 run the final 3:49 to take a 1-point lead 30-29.

Arkansas: The last time the Razorbacks won a game against Florida was on February 5, 2013, in Fayetteville.
