Tiger Woods Ties For Second At Valspar Championship

Tiger Woods Ties For Second At Valspar Championship

The NBC Group revealed that "the final round of the Valspar Championship earned a 5.11 overnight rating, up 190 per cent over the previous year and the highest-rated PGA Tour broadcast since Woods won The Players Championship in 2013".

Woods ended the tournament tied for second place but that did not stop people flocking back to watch the 14-time majors' victor - live and on television.

"I keep getting just a little better and a little sharper".

"Woods and Snedeker got to the final green and Snedeker is butchering it and he says to Tiger: "I'm going to finish" because Tiger's waiting on his birdie putt - and that's how it used to be".

Woods' fusion surgery ended a brief comeback bid past year.

The 14-time major victor - without a PGA Tour win since 2013 - finished one shot shy of victor Paul Casey despite a stunning 44-foot birdie putt on the 17th that wowed the crowd in Sunday's final round. He tied for 2nd place in a valiant run Sunday at Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor.

Woods, who finished one stroke behind Casey on Sunday, lamented a "couple of putts here and there" that could have led to his 80th PGA Tour victory. He could not replicate the magic at the par-four 18th, where he missed a hard 40-foot birdie putt that would have forced a playoff with Casey.
