Andhra CM's direction to TDP MPs on Special Category Status

As the noisy protests continued, Kurien thereafter adjourned the House for the day.

When the members did not relent, Naidu adjourned the House till 2 pm.

However, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha P.J. Kurien, who was in the Chair, said the House needs to be in order first.

The government on Wednesday informed Parliament that a total of Rs 124.76 billion has been released as special assistance to Andhra Pradesh, which includes Rs 25 billion for establishment of the new capital city of the state.

Soon after the listed papers were laid, several MPs trooped into the Well shouting slogans. She (a TDP member) is showing a placard which is against the rule.

Earlier, the proceedings of the Upper House were adjourned till 2 p.m. amid vociferous protests by the members of the TDP, AIADMK and some other opposition parties over various issues.

"Andhra Pradesh had incurred massive losses in the division of assets and liabilities; power distribution; tax collections and repayments", Naidu said. "However, we are getting nothing much from the special assistance measures", Naidu said in the assembly.

"The main aim of the policy is to achieve 42 lakh tonne marine exports, which support the government revenues to the tune of Rs 80,000 crore by 2020", Mr. Naidu said.

As reported by Hans India, Vannamei, Prawn Brood Stock Multiplication Centre and Aquatic Quarantine Facility will be established at Nakkavanipalem village, Visakhapatnam district.In addition to this, The Hon'ble CM also said that the State ranked second in prawn exports across the country.

He said the protesting parties were also demanding discussions on Cauvery Water Management Board, special package for Andhra Pradesh and fraud at PNB.

"I don't find any reason to come to the Well of House", the Chairman said adding that he is allowing discussion on all subjects. "Let us put an end to is my earnest appeal". Trinamool Congress (TMC) member Sukhendu Sekhar Roy stood up seeking the Chair's permission to raise a point of order. This has happened during the passing of a resolution on the fulfillment of all the promises made during the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh. "The centre should give hand holding to the state until the state recovers and grows at par with the other southern Indian states", Naidu continued.

Ahluwalia was to make a statement regarding status of implementation of recommendations of the 35th report of Parliamentary Standing Committee on rural development.
