John Oliver's parody book about gay Pence family rabbit hits No

(The other BOTUS book, written by Charlotte Pence, the vice president's daughter, and second lady Karen Pence, was at No. 15 as of Monday morning).

To no one's surprise, the publisher of the Pence family's children's book is not happy with John Oliver for stealing their thunder (and their book sales).

The segment also highlighted Pence's support for the SPLC designated hate group Focus on the Family, whose website has numerous anti-LGBT articles including "When a Loved One Says, "I'm Gay": The Stages of Grief". And, all of the proceeds from Oliver's book will go to the Trevor Project, which provides assistance to LGBT youth, and to AIDS United.

On Sunday's "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver", the host returned to one of his favorite on-air pastimes - trolling the Trump administration. Note, the video has strong language and is uncensored.

As of writing, Oliver's book has over 500 five-star reviews on Amazon. They will be touring the country and, of course, visiting Focus on the Family's headquarters to promote the book.

"Meet Marlon Bundo, a lonely bunny who lives with his Grampa, Mike Pence-the Vice President of the United States", the product description reads. "We are so grateful to be the beneficiary of books sold".

John Oliver introduced the Vice President as "the opposite of whatever a silver fox is" (it's "ashen weasel") and points out that while he's similar to many members of Trump's administration ("ethically compromised, creeped the fuck out by Jared, and subjected to all sorts of unwanted physical contact"), he's exceptionally bad in a lot of ways.

A rep for Regnery Publishing, which issued the Pences' book, tells The Blast, "It's unfortunate that anyone would feel the need to ridicule an educational children's book and turn it into something controversial and partisan".

In Oliver's version, there's a "Stink Bug" who looks a lot like Pence, who threatens to ruin Bundo's wedding.

. This is actually a book for children.

To prove it, there's a short animation of Marlon Bundo and his first meeting with Wesley and it is the cutest thing ever.

There is also an audiobook available on Amazon which features narration from a host of stars including The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons, John Lithgow, RuPaul and more.
