GoPro Hero Sports and Action Camera with 10MP Launched for Rs.18990

GoPro CEO Nick Woodman promised late past year that a new entry-level action camera was coming in 2018 and on Thursday, the company delivered.

The new Hero camera is available starting today and as you might expect with a lower price tag, the capabilities of the model aren't quite up to today's standards.

The HERO camera features a 2-inch touch display and provides voice control feature for recording and taking photos.

Its camera also gets a downgrade to make the price cut.

"HERO is a great first GoPro for people looking to share experiences beyond what a phone can capture", said Meghan Laffey, GoPro's SVP of product.

Out of the box without a cover, it's waterproof to depths of up to 30 ft (10 m), making it suitable for beach shenanigans and scuba diving. Wherever life takes you, capture and share your story for the ideal price.

Camera Jabber's action camera expert Ali Jennings happened to be in the shop picking up another piece of equipment when he spotted the new entry-level GoPro Hero camera sitting on a shelf next to the Hero5 Black.

The GoPro Hero can record at a maximum resolution of 1440p at 60 frames-per-second. The new GoPro Hero is already on sale and comes in at a penny under two ton: £199.99. GoPro says that this is a 10MP camera, which should be able to take some solid images.

The GoPro camera is compatible with your smartphone and has an app to offload your photos and videos on the go. The company even tried to diversify by launching a drone business, which it then ended up abandoning just a few months ago.

GoPro, Inc develops and sells cameras, and mountable and wearable accessories in the United States and internationally.
