Man Utd boss Mourinho: Pogba form? Ask him!

Man Utd boss Mourinho: Pogba form? Ask him!

Jose Mourinho has addressed much of the chatter surrounding Luke Shaw this week, as well as giving an injury update ahead of this weekend's fixtures.

The former Southampton left-back's time at Manchester United has been plagued by injuries and recurring issues with his current boss, who arrived in 2016 after Louis van Gaal's sacking.

"I don't think it's correct when a CEO says we are totally happy with you and the media doesn't believe him".

However, Mourinho added: "This period with Galaxy, these couple of years, will be very good for him and American football".

Mourinho was available after having been sacked by Chelsea FC in December 2015 following the disastrous start to their title defence.

But the 25-year-old's struggle to find consistent form, plus an obvious difficulty on Mourinho's part to fit him into a system that suits his style of play, has seen Pogba reach what appears to be a crossroads in his career under the Portuguese manager. Young was available to play against Brighton but I started with Shaw, so that's not a problem.

The United manager launched an astonishing verbal tirade against his players after the FA Cup tie, accusing them of showing "a lack of personality, lack of class and lack of desire" despite a comfortable 2-0 win.

He surprisingly pulled out of United's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Huddersfield because of illness, and Pogba then lost his place in the starting line-up to Scott McTominay for the first leg of a last-16 Champions League tie against Sevilla.

"I think in the end he was lucky because was a strong contusion and will take a little bit of time to recover". Last night I spoke with him a little and thanked him for his nice words.

"What happened since then?" I make the changes I want to do when I want to do. He plays the football that I wanted to play with Manchester United. If I want to change in minute 98, I change in minute 98.

Mourinho, though, expects the former Southampton man to stay.

"I am not disappointed with José Mourinho".

According to the Daily Mail, the defender said, "Why are you always picking on me?" "He's selected, he's in the 18", the manager said.
