Valpak is rewarding consumers with $100 checks

"We send out 39 million envelopes every month!"

There could be a free $100 check in someone's mailbox any time now, with no strings attached along with Valpak's retail coupon packs. They could contain $100! When all was said and done, just six checks were cashed and the other ones probably saw their way into the trash.

The checks are made out to "cash" and company officials say no purchase is necessary to win. In Canada, winners will receive a voucher to exchange for $100.

The promo is part of Valpak's loyalty program to reward customers for opening the Blue Envelope savings as well as looking for effective offers. "Also, winners will not be solicited or contacted by Valpak or its advertisers", the company said. This is the first time the company is sending out the bonus checks in every city at the same time.

In an effort to get more people to open their envelopes, Valpak has packed some of them with $100 checks.

Hundreds of dollars from an advertising company's yearly promotion are going unclaimed because people think it's fake.

"It feels great to win!"

Lia Jensen, director of Sales and Operations at Valpak West Michigan, said a total of 36 $100 checks were delivered in Grand Rapids. If you are one of the lucky ones to find a check, Jensen says all you have to do is take to the bank, sign it and get it cashed.
