However Stanford Health Care Hospital said it has received four to five patients following the shooting, according to Sky News.

San Francisco General Hospital says it has 3 patients from YouTube shooting; 1 in critical condition, another serious.

Police Chief Ed Barberini of the San Bruno police has confirmed that a woman who police consider a suspect is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and that four additional victims with gunshot-related wounds have been transferred to nearby hospitals for treatment. He could not confirm initial reports that a second shooter was involved.

City Manager Connie Jackson says there have been multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting and that police and fire officials have responded.

Footage has emerged from the area, showing armed police canvassing the property.

Police asked people to avoid the area as a large police presence is there.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the suspect has shot themselves.

About 1,700 people work at the campus. Police were seen escorting people out of the building with their hands in the air.

Some YouTube staff members, including Todd Sherman, tweeted about what they saw and heard.

Sherman said he initially thought the sound of people running was an "earthquake" before realising a shooter had stormed the building. Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers.

Google, YouTube's parent company, said in a statement that they are "coordinating with authorities and will provide official information here from Google and YouTube as it becomes available".

"At that point every new person I saw was a potential shooter".

He looked down and could see blood drops on the floor and stairs. Then a guy goes, he just shot another person.
