Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp condemns Manchester City bus attack

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Liverpool for alleged acts of damage and crowd disturbances after City were unable to use their coach for the return journey because of the damage caused.

City were on the end of a crushing defeat at Anfield on Wednesday, as Liverpool produced a stirring display which had them 3-0 up by the 31st minute of the first leg. "We had just a little recovery physically and mentally because our game at Anfield was so tough", the Spaniard told a news conference on Friday.

"I have to say apologies again for how things happened before the game", said Klopp before Saturday's Merseyside derby against Everton (12:30 BST kick-off).

"The medical staff of Man City did what they did but it is an outstanding thing to do and leaves us even more in a situation where we think 'Oof!"

'It is so odd because you go with your own bus through the crowd and it feels fantastic, it is passion.

City waited until emergency services arrived and Klopp paid tribute to them before lambasting the mindless individuals who damaged the City team bus, claiming: "It killed everything for us".

"You can not be happy about that any more, you don't feel it any more. You give everyone the opportunity to do something good and because of a few idiots it might never happen again". "It was all strange". The atmosphere during the game was one of the best I've experienced.

'It is not how it should have been.

Klopp said he will be cautious about playing the Egypt global in the derby.

"We worked very closely with both clubs to plan for last night before agreeing the route of the buses to ensure the teams and public were safe before the match", said Match Commander Superintendent Paul White. But of course you can imagine we try everything to make him available.

I can not make Mo available because it is the derby. You can not push a player through a game.

"We need the support because we are so exhausted (and) because United rest all week". "If he's a doubt he will not be involved".

'If they are not 100 per cent fit they can not be involved. That's not the problem.
