Why John Krasinski Didn't Think 'A Quiet Place' Was A Horror Movie

Why John Krasinski Didn't Think 'A Quiet Place' Was A Horror Movie

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did it, and they ended in shambles. It was at a pre-release screening, but the theater was full of people who had won or otherwise obtained passes from the local radio station, so the crowd wasn't unlike one you'd find in a theater tonight. It's the third-highest opening for an R-rated comedy in the last three years, behind only 2016's "Bad Moms" ($23.8 million) and 2017's "Girls Trip" ($31.2 million).

In possibly one of the most electrifying scenes of the film, Reagan stands with her back to the alien-creature, unaware of his presence. Ironically, Krasinski admits he's not that into horror movies.

It certainly looks like the box office is picking up steam. Whether it lands on the $50 million low end, $80 million mid-range, $100+ million blockbuster level, or $150+ million phenomenon won't be known for a few weeks. "We could not be more pleased". I just got out of A Quiet Place.

A Quiet Place is out in theaters now. Now might be a good time for us to check out Krasinski's first real writing gig. Well, when you have kids, you immediately get about two years behind. Unable to avoid the trappings of a small town, he now tells the story of a man that returns home after learning his mother has fallen ill. "What would I know you from?" This gives it an eight-week domestic total of $665.4 million and a worldwide total somewhere around $1.3 billion. Krasinski tweeted to Reynolds, "Thank you Son". I've never seen a better performance from Krasinski.

In a new interview with Fandango, A Quiet Place screenwriters Bryan Woods and Scott Beck were asked about the possibility of a sequel.

Emily Blunt also couldn't help but laugh at this weird phenomenon. At several points, the audio of the film shifts from tense prickles of barely-there sound to complete radio silence, to indicate how the situation would seem to Reagan.

Blunt admits she was received over by her character who she describes as "fierce". It won't be long before we see her star as an Oscar victor.

This is much, MUCH more subtle than a buzzer hidden beneath a seat however, as anyone in the theater that got buzzed in such a manner might very well be pulled down and have a hand clamped over their mouth just to avoid making too much noise.

"A Quiet Place" is now playing at UA Berkeley 7. Especially given that the latest installment of that series, the Netflix-dumped The Cloverfield Paradox, was only seen by 2.8 million people in its first three days, per Nielsen tracking.

A still from A Quiet Place. And I said: "The Office, but don't worry, the American Office".

Still flourishing in its eighth week out, Black Panther netted US$8.4 million for fourth spot. Perhaps we can call it, A Quiet Workplace. Jurassic World 2 star Chris Pratt also took to social media to praise A Quiet Place.
