IPL 2018: Winless Mumbai Indians and Daredevils hope to make a point

The Result: Mumbai Indians 7-194 (Suryakumar 53, Christian 2-35) lost to Delhi Daredevils 3-195 (Roy 91no, Krunal 2-21) by seven wickets with no balls to spare.

Eventually, these situations were seen in the seventh over of the IPL 2018, when a match was playing between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

Suryakumar, on the other hand, was trapped in front of the wickets by Tewatia but not before registering his half-century.

The live match IPL 2018 Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils will be broadcasted on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports Select 1 and Star Sports Select 1 HD in English Commentary.

Delhi's batting was a talk all around before the start of the tournament. Some quick wickets at the back end restricted the home side, but it was those at the top who contributed the lion's share, the opening trio combining for 75 per cent of Mumbai's total score. In his next over, Tewatia foxed Lewis by floating up a googly and drawing the mis-hit that was caught at mid off. They had an unbelievable start as Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis started the proceedings.

On a day when the bowlers lived up to their reputation by restricting MI to 147-8, SRH's experienced batsmen nearly threw the match away as eventually it was the last wicket pair of Deepak Hooda and No 11 Billy Stanlake who scrambled home. Roy responded to the challenge of 11 needed off six balls by hitting Mustafizur for a four and a six, but swung and missed at the next three balls.

The Punjab-born wrist spinner has been relying mostly on googlies as his wicket taking balls and his performance would be key to Mumbai's success.

Roy was there till the end and he found a partner in Shreyas Iyer. Delhi are 160/3 after 16 overs. Jason Roy is looking good there. Though he scored the runs off just 25 balls there was less slogging and more sensible play.

It could have been a different script for Mumbai had their famed batting unit applied them a bit better. The lull was worsened by Suryakumar's dismissal shortly after he had scored his second fifty in 45 IPL innings.

"We had a couple of costly dropped catches, we dropped (Sam) Billings on nine, and he played superbly, played some really good shots, also we didn't bowl our best to him". Yadav out! 53 runs (32) lbw Rohit Sharma comes to crease, just four runs off the over. He immediately reviewed it, and Ultra Edge showed a slight spike when the ball passed the gloves. They might bring Daniel Christian back in place of Morris or Vijay Shankar or their latest entrant Liam Plunkett as well.
