Rusev Replaced by Chris Jericho to Face Undertaker at 'Greatest Royal Rumble'

Undertaker, who returned to the ring at Wrestlemania against John Cena was supposed to face the Bulgarian Brute Rusev but WWE has made a decision to change the match.

A day after Rusev was scheduled to face The Undertaker in a casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, WWE announced Chris Jericho will replace the Bulgarian Brute and go on to face The Deadman.

Here is a video of TMZ Sports catching up with Lana and Rusev for comments about the upcoming match.

"All over the world, little boys and girls are celebrating #RusevDay, they smile for the greatest Superstar ever!"

In the first Casket Match at the Survivor Series in 1992, Undertaker defeated Kamala and since it has become one of his speciality matches, Hell in the Cell being the other.

Whether or not the interview, or Rusev's tweet following the announcement where he wrote "Bury me softly, Brother", resulted in the former United States Champion getting yanked from the match remains to be seen.

"He is a legend in the WWE". They simply decided Jericho vs Undertaker would be a better match even though they announced Rusev vs Undertaker before they came to that conclusion. "But so am I, it's Rusev Day", Rusev told the interviewer.

"I'll beat him so bad, maybe it's his last fight, yeah".

As noted earlier this week, Rey Mysterio is set to make his return to the ring for WWE at the April 27th Greatest Royal Rumble event from Saudi Arabia, according to PWInsider.

WWE confirmed to Newsweek that Rusev will take Jericho's spot in the 50-man Royal Rumble match.
