Cardi B Tops Album Charts With Second Best-Performing Album Of 2018

In other music release news, rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars released its new album "America" which debuted at No. 2 behind Cardi B's album with 62,000 units sold, Billboard reports. It moved 255,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 12, reports Billboard.

As Cardi B's debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, she becomes just the fifth female rapper ever to lead the list, and the first to do so since 2012.

Cardi B has joined the likes of Nicki Minaj and Lauryn Hill as female rappers who topped the Billboard charts on their debut albums. The only LP with a bigger week in 2018 is Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods which gathered 293,000 equivalent album sales. When the song went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October, Cardi, a former stripper and former cast member on the VH1 reality show "Love & Hip Hop: New York", matched Lauryn Hill's 1998 record as the first solo female rapper in almost 20 years to have a No. 1 single. So did Eve (1999), Foxy Brown (1999 and 1997) and South Orange's Lauryn Hill (1998).

Whether Cardi B is rocking platinum blonde locks, showing off a super cute pixie cut, or rocking a floral duster over a bustier bra, leather skirt and knee-high boots her style is on fleek from head to toe.

Earlier in the day, Queen Bey issued a statement about her highly-anticipated Coachella performance.
