With AP Photos.Brazil star Neymar says he is "recovering well" from a foot injury and is on schedule to be ready for the World Cup. He also said he will have his last post-surgery medical exam on May 17.

Neymar has already started work in the gym to prepare for the World Cup, which begins June 14 in Russian Federation. Dugarry has subsequently launched a scathing attack on the forward, who is now recovering from ankle surgery, insisting he can not be termed a "leader" if he is not there for his team's triumphs.

Recently, PSG had said that Neymar's recovery has been going pretty well, while coach Unai Emery said that he hopes to see the Brazilian making a return before the end of the season. He arrived using crutches and asked to be seated as quickly as possible when he was on stage. "I've been waiting for four years for the World Cup to come around", he concluded.

"There are doubts, of course". "I feel no pain; I am stepping little by little". But that is normal for someone that got injured. It's hard to be here watching my team play and winning the league [France's Ligue 1].

Brazilian legend Pele has all his faith in Neymar's ability to help win the sixth Global football title.

It's hard not to be playing and training. "But my health is above this", he said.

Neymar's season at PSG has been something of a topsy-turvy one; he has scored a total of 29 goals in all competitions, but the club were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid, and rumours surrounding his future continue to swirl.
