IPL: Yadav, Kishan help Mumbai to challenging total

Mumbai Indians ended up giving Rajasthan a decent target of 168 runs to accomplish.

Facing flak over number of no-balls bowled in match against Rajasthan Royals yesterday, team management of Mumbai Indians has asked bowler Jasprit Bumrah to wear skis instead of cricket shoes for the next match. MI missing Evin Lewis in the primary around but Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav developed a 129-run venture to get their crew on course for a major score.

The game was in the pocket of the Mumbai Indians in the latter stages with the required run rate over 13 in the last 3 overs and all the recognized Rajasthan Royals batsmen back to the pavilion.

Archer, who was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping Rs 7.2 crore in the auction in January, had suffered a side strain during his Pakistan Super League (PSL) stint in March and was since out of action.

His fiery spell helped Rajasthan Royals restrict Mumbai Indians to 167/7. The fifth over saw both batsmen hitting a six each and Kishan also getting a four off Kulkarni. He took three wickets against RCB and one against DD, conceding at just 7 in both matches.

Kulkarni struck the first blow for the hosts in the very first over when Lewis dragged an inside edge on to his stumps.

The victory moved the Royals to six points from six games with three wins and three losses while Mumbai suffered their fourth defeat in five matches.

The Mumbai skipper was run-out first ball as he underestimated the pinpoint accurate Ajinkya Rahane and chose to steal a run after hitting the ball straight to the Rajasthan skipper. There will also be some concern over the fact that Rashid Khan, the legspinner, has gone for more than 100 runs in his last two bowls, but there is too much quality there for the Afghan not to bounce back quickly. India lost the match by a massive 180-run margin.

In the past two matches, neither Rajasthan's batsmen nor their bowlers have delivered.

Two superb final overs from Jofra Archer all but sealed Mumbai's surge in the first innings. Two time champions Mumbai Indians have been away to a start this season setbacks before skipper Rohit Sharma came using a 94 against Roy Al Challengers Bangalore.

IPL 2018 RR vs MI live streaming will be available online via official broadcasters - Hotstar, AirTel, and Jio.

The 39 runs for six wickets at 6.5 in the final six overs is where Rajasthan can claim to have laid the platform for their win. We didn't capitalise on the start we got.
