Dallas Police Officers Wounded in Shooting Outside Home Depot

He was taken into custody shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday after a lengthy auto chase involving officers of various law enforcement agencies.

The man had a handgun and shot two responding officers and a store loss-prevention officer, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Authorities began looking for the gunman after he fled in a white pickup, Hall had said.

"We got our man", Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said at the late-night news conference.

According to a report in Heavy.com, Juarez's relative said he is now unemployed but he previously worked alongside his father as a bricklayer and a forklift operator.

A civilian was also wounded, the department said, but that person's condition was not known.

The officer detained a suspect and requested additional cover officers to place the suspect under arrest. The names of the wounded officers and the civilian were not released by the police, however, it was confirmed they were all in surgery.

The male officer, who was shot in the back of the head, has succumbed to his injuries, according to a local NBC affiliate.

Police have arrested 29-year-old Armando Luis Juarez on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and felony theft.

Police in Dallas arrested a person of interest in a shooting that critically injured two police officers Tuesday. She did not provide details of their conditions but asked for continued prayers for their recovery. Police are searching for the suspect in a wooded area near the store's parking long.

This happened at a Home Depot off Central Expressway and Forest Lane in Northeast Dallas.
