Airstrikes in IS-held part of Syria kill 23

US officials have repeatedly said their battle against IS in eastern Syria's Deir el-Zour has been complicated by the close proximity of the Syrian regime, backed by Russian Federation and Iranian-linked Shiite militias. The Department regrets that in the end of attack of the aircraft was destroyed by a civilian.

President Donald Trump has said he wants to pull out US troops as soon as IS is defeated. "This is a key milestone in bringing lasting stability to both Iraq and Syria". Israel is believed to be behind several strikes on Iran-linked positions in Syria in the past year.

Hashim Muhammad, the SDF commander of the al-Jazeera Storm operation, accused Syrian President Bashar al-Assad of "playing a game" by trying to intentionally hamper their operation in eastern Deir el-Zour.

Meanwhile, airstrikes targeting an ISIS pocket in Hassakeh province killed 23 civilians, including 10 children and six women, on Tuesday, the AP said, citing the United Kingdom -based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The strikes took place in an area where USA -backed and Kurdish-led forces are fighting to drive IS from some of the last pockets of territory it controls.

Local sources told Syria's official news agency SANA that 25 people were killed in the US-led aerial attacks against al-Fadhel village near al-Shaddadi town in the southern part of the province, located 650 kilometers (400 miles) northeast of the capital Damascus, on Tuesday.

Turkish forces captured Afrin in March.

The Syrian government now controls the province's capital, which goes by the same name, and the entire western side, while the USA -backed forces hold the east.

In the first three months of 2018 United Kingdom drones fired as many weapons in Syria as they have done over the previous 18 months.

The victims of the strike on the village of Al-Qasr are believed to have belonged to two families, with several people still in critical condition.

"Aggression of the Zionist entity against the presence of our military advisers in Syria gives us the right to respond at the appropriate place and time", Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Iranian parliament's national security committee, said in the first direct response from Tehran to Sunday's strikes.
