Ryan Coogler Is Interested In Making A Female-Led 'Black Panther' Spinoff

"That's one of my favourite parts of the movie when I watched it, and I didn't expect that".

Upon being asked if he would ever do a spin-off with just the female characters of Black Panther, Coogler said: "Oh man, that would be fantastic if the opportunity came up".

While at Cannes Film Festival yesterday afternoon (May 10), Coogler didn't flinch at the question if the women of 'Black Panther' were as important as the men, boldly stating: "I think you could argue they are more important".

"That part of the movie you feel like youre watching something fresh and new. That would be fantastic if the opportunity came up", as Variety notes.

Coogler also cited the likes of Lamar, DuVernay and Donald Glover's "Atlanta" for pushing him, indirectly, on "Black Panther".

Over the past few months, we've seen Marvel premiere two of the biggest movies of all time in "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War". He studied Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece and even screened an early cut of "Black Panther" with Coppola.

Critics especially praised its strong women characters such as Nakia (Lupita Nyongo), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Shuri (Letitia Wright). That part of it was exciting. Just woo us as you have been.
