A Fairfield, California, couple was arrested for child neglect, torture, and child abuse by police who say they were forcing their 10 children to live in terrible conditions.

Rogers informed reporters she's shocked police had leveled essentially the most severe accusations in opposition to her husband, as he was not the disciplinarian of the household. Hurlbut added that police found filthy conditions in the home shared by Rogers and Allen.

On Monday, Rogers gave reporters a tour of her house, while denying her husband abused the children. According to a police statement, the boy was found sleeping under the bush of a nearby home. His bail was set at $5.25 million, and he is due back in court May 24, according to court records.

Upon witnessing the appalling conditions, Rogers was arrested for child neglect.

The investigation started on On March 31 when police responded to a report of a missing 12-year old on the 2200 block of Fieldstone Ct.

Sharon Henry, chief deputy district attorney of the Solano County district attorney's office has said that "I'm horrified by the statements that were given by these children". The other rooms were used as a master bedroom, playroom and meditation room.

She said the "squalor" officers saw while investigating came from her tearing her house apart as she searched for her child. She did not say why.

Aleida Quartman, 23, said she was a co-worker of Rogers' at a heart device monitoring company.

She told ABC: I strive, I thrive on being a good parent to my children.

Peggy Allen, Jonathan's mother, claimed that she told Ina a couple of times that she needs to clean her house.

"We're a Christian household and Jonathan has not been raised that manner", she stated.

Neighbor Larry Magnaye said he had no idea there were 10 children living in the house across the street.

The mother and father would wave when leaving the driveway, however he by no means noticed the youngsters within the yard or heard them taking part in within the yard pool.

"It's a pretty big house", Magnaye said. "However I do not know how one can hold it quiet when you could have 10 children". As a result of that investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for the children's father.

David and Louise Turpin previously pleaded not guilty to torture, child abuse and other charges in a case that has drawn worldwide attention since the couple's 17-year-old daughter escaped the family's Perris, California, home in January.
