Kristen Stewart Climbs Cannes Red Carpet Stairs Barefoot

India's late legendary actor, Sridevi will be honoured with an Icon Award at this year's ongoing Cannes Film Festival.

Not so for Kristen Stewart, who chucked her high heels at last night's "BlackKklansman" premiere, either because she's still smarting from the rumored flat-shoe ban or she simply got sick of wearing them on a rain-soaked carpet.

An outspoken opponent to the dress-code, the Twilight star made a decision to commit her own act of protest at Monday night's premiere of BlacKkKlansman, by ditching her Louboutins and finishing off her red carpet run shoe-less. Good thing her toes were painted in a simple black shade so her feet had time to shine even during the shoe removal!

"There's definitely a distinct dress code", Kristen told the Hollywood Reporter in 2017.

'It can work both ways. This is not the first time that she spoke about this tradition at the fest.

She continued: "I feel like you can't ask that anymore, but it's still a given". If you're not asking guys to wear heels and a dress then you can't ask me either'. "I get the black-tie thing but you should be able to do either version-flats or heels".

Cate said, 'As women we all face our own unique challenges but we stand togetehr on these steps today as a symbol of our dedication and our commitment to progress. What's important is that the 82 of us who stood there stood in solidarity with women from all professions, all countries.

Gera's "Sir", which has been selected for Critic's Week, a sidebar of the Cannes Film Festival, will be showcased on May 14, 15 and 16 here.
