Some schools cancelled class Tuesday after storms caused outages to school buildings. Some of the storms could be severe.

At 10 a.m., the river was measuring at 10.65 feet at the New Munster gauge. The temperature is predicted to drop to about 60 degrees tonight. The river was expected to reach 18.6 feet by early Wednesday; minor flooding begins at 18 feet, according to the alert. Localized rainfall of one to three inches is likely where this occurs, and combined with the rainfall received this past weekend, this may lead to instances of flash flooding.

Recent heavy rain has once again pushed several northwest OH rivers out of their banks.

"Main concern deals with potential for heavy rain/possible flooding", the National Weather Service wrote in a forecast discussion.

High-water warnings were in place Monday on 3 Mile Road, 2 Mile Road and 50th Road in the Franksville area of Caledonia as both flowing and stagnant water covered low sections of the streets.
