Arsenal in shock Marouane Fellaini move with free transfer talks due

The summer transfer window has been open for quite a while in England and it closes on 9 August - just before the new season kicks off.

Arsenal have launched a shock move to sign Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini on a free transfer after he rejected two contract offers to remain at Old Trafford.

According to The Times, Arsenal have scheduled talks with Fellaini for Wednesday. The big Belgian midfielder - who cost United £27.5m in 2013 - will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the month. While United want to sign him to a new contract―manager Jose Mourinho is a fan of the Belgian―the former Everton man has chose to keep his options open as he wants to be a regular starter.

Fellaini, who made his name at Everton, is now away with Belgium's World Cup squad and is not expected to make any decisions over his future until he returns from Russian Federation next month.

The Belgium global is out of contract at the end of June and would be able to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

It's a done deal between the Gunners and Borussia Dortmund, claim talkSPORT, with the broadcaster reporting that Sokratis Papastathopoulos "is set to join Arsenal this week for £15m".

Fellaini has also been linked to Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille.

However, if they are found guilty, chances are that Fellaini may not move to Italy and would rather stay in England to continue his career.
