Apple's WWDC 2018 Promises Plenty of Software Talk-And Maybe Some iPads

With WWDC a couple of days out, we're coming up on one year since Apple first showed off its glitzy answer to the Amazon Echo and Google Home smart speakers.

The highlight will likely be iOS 12, and there have been some leaks around the upcoming iOS version.

That means Federighi's reluctance to bring touch to Macs is a symptom of Microsoft's failing - if the Windows 10 touch experience was better competition would force Apple to act even if they had philosophical issues with the idea.

Gene Munster, a former Apple analyst at Piper Jaffray, also speaks about the hardware upgrade that most probably Apple could introduce a cheaper Siri-integrated speaker.

Apple is also expected to unveil a heavily upgraded version of ARKit, the development toolkit it provides for building AR-infused iOS apps including a mode created to "let users play AR games against each other in the same virtual environment". Undoubtedly, at its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) the tech giant will reveal some of the new innovations in hardware and software which it has made in the past year.

WWDC 2018 is about to get started tonight at 10.30PM IST.

A second one filed later the same month alleged that Apple was in breach of no fewer than five separate laws. However there is no such confirmation yet. But some new features and additional updates are expected nevertheless.

There are chances that new surprises will come out this year that will chill the investors with a big hardware or software announcement, but according to experts are mainly expecting incremental enhancements, on both sides, the software and hardware.

Apple was not previously expected to release any new phones or computers at the event, but the rumor mill has suddenly gone into overdrive with speculation Sunday that Apple may launch a new version of its iPhone SE, its cheapest base-model iPhone. Apple's services division, which generates revenue from subscriptions, commissions and maintenance plans tied to Apple devices, already has become the fastest growing piece of the massive company.

The new version of macOS has a number of features which makes it easier to work across multiple devices. For Apple Watch users who want to listen to non-Apple Music tunes the same is true to a lesser degree.

Tell us in the comment below. The iPhone software update usually comes in September, shortly after the company unveils its latest iPhones.
