Celebrities mourn the death of Kate Spade

Spade was found hanged in her apartment Tuesday in an apparent suicide, law enforcement officials said.

Officials on the scene said they could not give more detail while the investigation is still ongoing. "So pretty. I don't think everyone knew how f-ing amusing she was", before ending his note with the same conclusion as his Instagram photo.

Back in 1993, Kate Brosnahan Spade, a former accessories editor at mademoiselle, set out to design the ideal handbag, according to her company's website. Coach later purchased it in 2017 for US$2.4 billion, and its products are still sold in over 450 stores around the world.

The New York Police Department confirmed the death of fashion designer Kate Spade, 55, on Tuesday.

Spade, the sister-in-law of comedian David Spade, started her iconic handbag company with husband Andy back in the '90s.

Maternity wear designer Liz Lange and Premme co-founder Nicolette Mason also shared her thoughts. Though the Spades stepped away from the brand in 2007, the two ― with the aid of two friends ― started a new venture in 2016 called Frances Valentine.

Spade, who was an accessories editor at Mademoiselle magazine, launched her company with husband Andy in their apartment in 1993.

Designer Kate Spade attends the Tribeca Ball 2011 at the New York Academy of Art on April 4, 2011 in New York City.

Our thoughts remain with her friends and family during this hard time.

"There was a lack of interesting accessories that had a personality but still very elegant and functional", she said. In the meantime, we send out condolences to her family. "She was also a staple of NYC who spread goodwill".

In 1996, the Kate Spade brand opened its first boutique in SoHo before moving its headquarters to West 25th Street.

"If you are struggling with depression and contemplating suicide, please, please seek help".
