With the Oppo Find X, slider phones are officially back

As of now, there is no information regarding the Find X's launch in India, but Oppo India recently teased the launch of the phone that sort of hints that the phone will most likely make its way to the Indian shores.

The front camera module also includes a host of sensors for a 3D facial scanning system called "O-Face" for security on the Find X.

Oppo Find X comes with a 6.42-inches AMOLED Full HD+ display with 2340 x 1080 resolution and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. We went from candybar phones to clamshells, to sliders, back to the candybar (with every smartphone following that framework), and then in the pursuit to have bezel-less displays, phones are revising the slider format to hide elements like the front-facing camera.

The biggest highlight of the OPPO Find X is its innovative pop-up cameras to offer the all-screen front.

Apart from that, though, the Oppo Find X is your usual 2018 flagship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, no headphone jack, and a 3,730mAh battery which can be quickly charged through the company's own VOOC technology. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based custom ColorOS 5.1 AI intuitive system.

We have the feeling that Oppo's solution will be far more susceptible to damage.

The phone will also have 512 MB of storage, a carbon-fiber texture underneath the glass on the back of the device, and will be engraved with the Lamborghini logo. There are no visible openings around the display, Oppo says, while the body-color buttons are slimline metal slivers. The Lamborghini edition of the Oppo Find X will cost buyers 1,699 Euros which roughly translates to Rs 1,33,913.

That said, pre-orders for the Find X begin today in China and will take weeks to reach anywhere else. This means that it is hidden inside the handset on the top edge and pops out when you want to use it.

As noted by CNET, the front-facing 3D face-scanner improves selfies and unlocks the phone.

The OPPO Find X Lamborghini Edition comes with 512GB of storage and it will be priced at 1,699 Euro which is about RM7,881.

The design of the Oppo Find X is the focal point of this device, with Oppo stating during its launch event that it believes in attractive design that can still offer useful functionality.

Nonetheless, it claims the Find X's facial recognition is 20 times faster than fingerprint recognition on the rear of the OPPO R15 Pro.

There's also a 3,730 mAh battery, complete with fast charging. To recall, Oppo was also the company that introduced Oppo N3 with a rotating camera. The company says that the sliding mechanism has been tested over 300,000 times for durability.

The pop-up camera module features dual cameras at the back, consisting of a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 20-megapixel secondary camera. It is bundled with 3D sensors that support FaceUnlock just like the iPhone X. Both cameras are also supported with AI features.
