PDP fallout: PM Modi's Kashmir policy is correct, says Rajnath

Asked why he took the decision to ally with the PDP which is ideologically different than the BJP, Amit Shah said, "There could be no government without the BJP or the PDP".

"No, Modiji's Kashmir policy is correct".

At one end of the park stands the tomb of People's Democratic Party (PDP) founder and former chief minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, encircled by a barbed wire fence.

In the Mehbooba Mufti-led government, two MLAs of the Peoples Conference, headed by Sajad Lone, and Aga Bakir, independent MLA from Zanskar constituency of the Ladakh region, had announced support to the BJP. While BJP was in favour, PDP leaders wanted the ceasefire to be extended. Eventually, the alliance imploded this Tuesday-on June 19, a week before the death anniversary of the 1901-born Mookerjee. "I'm sure his partymen are loyal to him", Madhav was quoted by the news agency ANI as saying on Thursday.

Speaking at Zee Media's India ka DNA Conclave 2019, Shah said, "We could have taken the decision after 6 months after if there were political considerations to break the PDP-BJP alliance". "Keeping it suspended has encouraged dalals", Omar said. The state flag continues to be hoisted, but issuing circular and later withdrawing it was a symptom of disharmony between the ruling partners.

The party will not leave any stones unturned in sending out a message that the BJP took the people of the state for granted and that it failed to observe "coalition dharma".

The NC leader claimed that Gupta's statement hinted at the BJP's attempts to break other parties to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Accusing the BJP of setting Jammu and Kashmir on "a fire of anarchy and radicalization" in its three years coalition rule with PDP, the Congress on Wednesday sought to know from it and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to what plans they had for bringing normalcy and peace back to the state.

In response to the recent loss of lives in the Valley, despite Centre's imposition of Ramzan ceasefire, he said big attacks had happened on Eid during past as well.

The terrorists and the separatists increasingly got emboldened and violence escalated.

Together, they were seen as pieces to knitting a story that looked like Jammu succumbing before Mehbooba, who also didn't agree to a section's demand for a CBI inquiry into case on the rape and murder of an eight-year-old Kathua girl this year.

After the fresh orders, governor NN Vohra will be presiding over the state.
