Senegal defender might have just accidentally announced the new Chelsea manager

Maurizio Sarri has identified Belgian midfielder, Dries Mertens as his first signing when he becomes Chelsea boss.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is backing Maurizio Sarri for success at Chelsea - if he's given time. One main reason for this downfall has been the shaky Chelsea back line that has conceded way too many goals this season.

Although Antonio Conte has yet to be given his marching orders from Stamford Bridge, Sarri is poised to take over the helm from his fellow Italian counterpart following further meetings in England's capital this week.

"You can expect nice football because he's a very good coach", said Koulibaly, speaking after Senegal's 2-1 World Cup win over Poland in Moscow.

"I'm disappointed that he leaves like this but we have now a big coach (Carlo Ancelotti)". Sarri is a disruptive, savvy coach that can reinvigorate Chelsea.

Sarri's move for Martusciello will see the pair reunite at Stamford Bridge after spending time together at Empoli, prior to Sarri's departure for Napoli's top job in 2015. "At Chelsea I think it will be the same".

Mertens starred under Sarri last season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions for the Serie A side as they finished second behind Juventus.

"At Napoli we enjoyed it very much as players and the supporters enjoyed it very much".

Once he is finally appointed as Chelsea manager, which could be as quickly as this week, reports in the Telegraph claim that he could launch a raid on Napoli as he looks to rebuild the Blues squad that missed out on Champions League qualification last season after finishing fifth.

After failing to retain the Premier League title, Conte came under pressure at Chelsea, and the latest reports indicate that the Blues are prepared to pay €5m (£4.4m) to release Sarri from his contract at Napoli.
