Meghan Markle and Catherine Middleton step out for Wimbledon

Meghan, who also wowed the Wimbledon crowds in a Ralph Lauren shirt and high-waisted pants, was of course supporting her close friend Serena Williams, who played Angelique Kerber in the final - returning to the tournament for the first time since having her daughter just 10 months ago.

The duchesses, who sat in the royal box in Centre Court to watch the match, arrived at midday and were greeted by cheers from tennis fans waiting for the resumption of the men's singles semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. "You know, I've known Meghan [Markle] for years, so it was good to see my friend happy".

While Williams - who gave birth to her first child, daughter Alexis Olympia, 10 months ago - may not have won, she still praised Kerber for her hard work.

Duchesses Meghan and Kate attended the tennis tournament in London Saturday and both looked perfectly posh for the summer outing. It's obviously disappointing but I can't be disappointed, I have so much to look forward to and I'm literally just getting started.

In a 2017 documentary for BBC, speaks about her admiration for some of the game's great players, saying: "I was really taken by Agassi and Sampras, Ivanisevic and Steffi Graf".

Williams has previously said that she was delighted the duchess would be coming to watch her play.

The Ladies' final is set to be quite a showdown.

Also supporting Williams on Centre Court are golfer Tiger Woods, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, Vogue magazine editor Anna Wintour and writer-director Shonda Rhimes.

Serena Williams lost her match at Wimbledon this year, but luckily, she had her friends there to support her. Kerber defeated Williams 6-3, 6-3, to win the tournament.

Williams was at Markle and Harry's wedding on May 19, and recently told InStyle that she thinks Middleton is a "badass woman".

"I'm sure you will have your next grand slam title".
