Giuliani just obliterated the goal posts on Trump-Russia collusion

Asked about former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's upcoming trial, Giuliani told Alisyn Camerota that Mr Manafort "was not involved with intimate business relationships with Donald Trump".

And given that, Giuliani went on to say, then it doesn't matter if Trump or members of his presidential campaign actually "colluded" with Russians to interfere in the 2016 election.

The tweet comes a day after Giuliani made the same claim in multiple television appearances.

President Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said Monday that he does not know whether Trump would ever pardon Michael Cohen, the President's embattled ex-lawyer now under criminal investigation. You start analysing the crime, the hacking is the crime, the hacking is the crime. "Well the president didn't hack. He didn't pay for the hacking", he said during a subsequent interview with CNN.

Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani recently offered up this argument on Fox & Friends: "I've been sitting here looking in that federal code trying to find collusion as a crime". So collusion is not only a crime; collusion involves at least four crimes.

Rep. Steve Cohen told CNN that he believes President Donald Trump's son and son-in-law will be indicted in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation for communications with Russian Federation during the 2016 elections.

Trump himself also said in a New York Times interview in December, "There is no collusion, and even if there was, it's not a crime". The Trumps have said Cohen is wrong about the president knowing in advance of the meeting.

"Right now I'm telling him 'no way, '" he said, asking why Trump would testify in an investigation that has "no legitimacy". "There is a sort of area of questioning and a group of restrictions on it that we could live with, I think", Giuliani said.

Giuliani explained Trump's view is "enough is enough".

Giuliani added that he had said Trump wasn't in the room for that meeting because there were in fact two different meetings. "But he claimed Trump still has a 'soft spot" for Michael Cohen, who Giuliani has been branding as a liar amid signals he may cooperate with Mueller.

"It's just a word choice", said Julie O'Sullivan, a criminal law professor at Georgetown University. 'I can't tell you, ' he siad.

Over the weekend, Trump and Giuliani launched some of their most personal attacks to date against Mueller, claiming the special counsel personally has conflicts of interest - including an unnamed "contentious business relationship" - that should preclude him from running the investigation.

Trump also argued Mueller could not be impartial in the probe because he worked for a law firm that had represented Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
