Donald Trump insults LeBron James' intelligence: 'I like Mike'

"I support LJ. He's doing an unbelievable job for his community", Jordan said in a statement provided to The Washington Post by a spokesperson. "He's doing an wonderful job for his community", Jordan said through a spokeswoman.

This reaction comes on the heels of the four-time MVP, three-time Finals MVP and NBPA first vice-president opening the I Promise School - supported by the LeBron James Foundation - to 240 at-risk kids.

In an interview with CNN's Don Lemon aired earlier in the week, the LA Lakers star said Trump had stirred racial tensions in USA sports in an attempt to "divide" the nation. "LeBron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon", Trump wrote. Trump added that he apparently prefers Michael Jordan to LeBron James.

President Donald Trump attacked Ohio's favorite son, LeBron James, on Friday night, questioning his intelligence just a day before he's set to hold a rally in the state. Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who said in a tweet that James is "a great family man, incredible ballplayer, gives back to his community, and isn't afraid to speak his mind".

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for First Lady Melania Trump Saturday said it appears James is "working to do good things" and that she would be willing to visit the new school he opened in Ohio. "I can't sit back and not say nothing", James said of Trump's actions.

Saturday Trump faced criticism by a number of athletes who came to James's defense, including former United Kingdom and U of L basketball stars.

While a host of people have now spoken out against Donald Trump in his attack on LeBron James - including now Melania Trump - LeBron himself has yet to weigh in.

Even the president's wife was supportive of James' work with children.

Another said: "So Trump finally went at LeBron, huh?"

At the time, James came to Curry's defence.

The President slammed LeBron James on Twitter last night!

During the said interview, LeBron did say his opinion on Trump, and it looks like the leader of the free world didn't like that.

During the interview, James and Lemon toured the school and discussed sports, politics and race relations.

But many are pretty sure it is National Basketball Association legend Michael Jordan, who is endlessly compared to James.
