Aaron Rodgers Leaves Game Injured, Then Returns To Lead Stunning Comeback

The Packers announced at halftime that the star quarterback was questionable to return. Backup DeShone Kizer replaced Rodgers on Green Bay's next drive.

One-liners: When the Bears took a 10-0 lead, it marked the first time they led the Packers by double digits since a 35-7 win over Green Bay Dec. 23, 2007 at Soldier Field, a span of 23 games between the long-time rivals.

My God, how could anybody hate Aaron Rodgers? "I realized I probably should jog to let Dr. McKenzie know I could do that". "I was thinking about walking out of the tunnel out all the way to the sideline, but I figured I might as well jog a little bit to let Dr. McKenzie know that I could do that".

"I said, 'We might as well win this thing, '" Rodgers said.

Later Rodgers said his playing status would be more clear later in the week. Mitch Trubisky was slinging tight spirals all over the field and the defense swarmed around Aaron Rodgers and any Packer who touched the football through the first two quarters. 12 was coming back in, and the Bears, and really anyone for that matter, had no idea what was coming.

Trailing 20-0 in the third quarter, it now marks the fifth time in franchise history that the Packers have comeback from a 20-point deficit to bring home a win. "It" was, on a rare instance of not getting the ball out quickly, taking his time to find Randall Cobb over the middle to trigger a 75-yard game-winning disembowlment of an opponent he's so thoroughly and consistently beaten over the last dozen years.

After scoring a touchdown and a field goal on its first two possessions, the Bears offense was held to two field goals on its final eight drives.

"We're paid to deal with injuries and play through 'em", Rodgers said.

Garoppolo performed Houdini-like escapology before tossing the ball into the end zone for a scampering Pettis to just grab the ball with his finger tips and crucially get both feet in bounds.

What went right: The secondary, in the second half at least. "He was feeling well, making plays and making big-time plays".

What went wrong: The team fell apart without Rodgers. Later in the quarter, he returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown.

When Rodgers lay on the turf in serious pain, wondering how bad his knee was, he said all he wanted to do was get off the field. First, the Bears seemed to spot him into pass-rush situations. "I think last year they might've given me a nice warning, but it's changing this year". But late in the game, he missed and/or rushed some throws and looked like a different quarterback. And from the Green Bay Packers' incredible comeback, the team can learn a lot. The result was Rodgers operating nearly exclusively a no-huddle two-minute offense with plenty of quick throws.

Mack finished the game with three total tackles - two solo - the sack and fumble recovery. Some openly questioned why the Packers would bring Rodgers back into a lost game.
