Jose Mourinho Paul Pogba never asked to leave Manchester United

But, getting his signature wouldn't be a walk in the park, even for the "Special One", as his former club, Real Madrid, is also looking to sign the diminutive attacker.

Pogba has refused to shut down talk of a move away from Old Trafford, saying during the worldwide break "who knows what will happen in the next few months".

Raiola has also fanned speculation that Pogba would welcome a possible move to Barcelona.

Boateng actually lined out against United in a pre-season friendly on August 5 and must have impressed Mourinho but the German worldwide never looked keen on a return to Manchester.

Pogba's time in Turin rocketed him to superstardom and earned him a move back to United as the then-most expensive player in world football.

Asked to clarify his "show off" comment, and whether he was referring to Pogba's manner on or off the pitch, Doucoure replied: 'Both - but I think he has this personality because he is good on the pitch.

"A haircut does not prevent you [the media] from talking, but I purposely did nothing, to stay low key", he told RMC.

I give it my all for United always.

"I did not want just to get away from Bayern, but I was thrilled to try a new challenge". And he never told me he wants to leave.

"I make no secret I want to become like him".

"Since U16, I played with him", the Hornets star said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

Mourinho was more forthcoming when discussing four players whose contracts expire at the end of the current season - Luke Shaw, Juan Mata, Ashley Young and Ander Herrera - plus goalkeeper David de Gea who is in contract talks despite having one year, plus an additional option of one season, on his deal.

'People speaking about his minutes, they are a bit confused, ' Mourinho said. "David is David, no need of more words".

"When you win you feel good feelings and you want to continue doing it".
