More than 17,000 have sought refuge in 240 Red Cross and community shelters.

Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina early Friday.

Florence struck just as the new Executive Director of the Southeast Ohio chapter of the American Red Cross Matthew Riddle stepped into the role.

In the wake of the storm's aftermath, residents need our help. The campaign is being managed by The Direct Impact Fund, which collects and distributes funds to verified campaigns and aid groups created to help those affected. The group has mobile feeding units deployed across North and SC. You can help by visiting RedCross.org or texting the word "Florence" to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

"In times like these, we collaborate with our nearby Kroger divisions and other partners to find ways to help in any way we can", said Allison McGee, corporate affairs manager at Kroger Mid-Atlantic.
