Liverpool's Mane has operation on thumb injury

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have both returned to full training with Liverpool and, barring any late setbacks, will be available for selection against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Salah returned early from worldwide duty after being forced off with a muscle strain during Egypt's 4-1 victory over Swaziland in an African Nations Cup qualifier last Friday.

Sadio Mane's availability is less certain as the attacker wasn't able to train on Thursday after undergoing surgery on a broken thumb that he sustained while away with Senegal so he is a doubt this weekend.

Koeman later revealed that the medical staff of Liverpool and the Dutch national team had reached an agreement for Van Dijk to only play in the UEFA Nations League clash with Germany.

Keita, who has featured in all eight league matches for the club so far, went off with a muscle problem in Guinea's 1-1 draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.

James Milner also trained on Thursday, having injured his hamstring in Liverpool's game with Manchester City over the global break.

With James Milner expected to be sidelined by his own hamstring problem, Jurgen Klopp could be left short in midfield.

He said: "I have known Jurgen long enough, I know he loves to use smoke screens".

"Don't believe everything you read - I expect that most of his players will be on the grass on Saturday".

I don't understand all the fuss about him not being at his best because I think a year ago he had the same number as he had right now and there wasn't any issue.

Huddersfield's form is a stark contrast as they seek a first win to potentially climb out of the relegation zone. "That's what we like to do", Wagner added.

'We can not ignore the travelling when you fly overnight and change time zones two or three times in eight or nine days.
