Red Dead Redemption 2 app hits iOS and Android this week

The Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app is now on track for October 26, 2018, alongside the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release.

Hungry gamers queuing for the midnight release of Red Dead Redemption 2 can quell the hunger pains with direct delivery to their place in the queue, courtesy of Deliveroo. Rockstar mentioned that even more will be included in the app, which is up to players to discover when the game launches.

Once downloaded and connected, you will be able to explore the map and set waypoints and points of interest that will appear in-game as you play. It will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4/4 Pro (for certain).

Beside that, there's Arthur's in-game Journal, Social Club stat tracking, the game's manual and you can buy a digital version of the Official Guide through the app as well.

Finally, the app will also show you Arthur Morgan's core info and stats in real-time on your device, allowing you to completely remove the in-game HUD from your television should you choose.

Launching on Friday for iOS and Android, the app will primarily be there to act as a map. And with the countdown to launch getting closer by the day, it will be interesting to see just how significant of an impact RDR2's Day One patch as on gameplay on the title's first day of availability.
