Both Princes wore bright, fun, Hawaiian-style short-sleeved shirts, whilst both Duchesses opted for ankle-length red, pink, and purple printed dresses with heeled wedges.

Cape Town - The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning wearing a lovely diamond tiara, as she paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, on Tuesday night at a state dinner.

In her will Queen Mary left the tiara to to the Queen who wore it frequently, including at an evening event in 1955. Of course a good deal of this may just come down to the confidence that comes as you mature, which means it's going to be interesting seeing Cathy's image evolve past any comparable image of Diana as she grows older than Diana ever was.

But Kate didn't seem phased.

Her attire prompted even Vogue to describe her as having a 'Cinderella Fashion Moment", with her sleeveless, ruched Alexander McQueen dress "resembling the silhouette of a classic Disney princess gown'.

Visiting for the event were King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands accompanied by Queen Maxima, who are now staying at the Palace.

The duchess has worn the tiara on several other occasions, including diplomatic receptions at Buckingham Palace in 2015 and 2016, and a state banquet in honor of King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain 2017, according to Harper's Bazaar. And all this on the first day of their two-day visit.

But while William's wife was being roasted for her look, across the world on the island of Fiji, Meghan Markle was being praised for the Fiji "blue" ensemble she donned during Tuesday night's state dinner. The baby is due in the northern hemisphere spring.

She opted for loose hair and no tiara, probably because that wouldn't fit the setting, but Meghan did have sparkling chandelier earrings swinging from her ears.
