NBC Cancels Megyn Kelly's 'Today' Show | HuffPost Canada

ET caught up with the Editor at Large of O, The Oprah Magazine at the publication's office in NY, on Friday, where she shared her thoughts on Megyn Kelly's recent controversial blackface comments that ultimately led to the cancelation of her show, Megyn Kelly Today. She added, "I learned that given the history of blackface being used in bad ways by racists in this country, it is not okay for that to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise". "Back when I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up as like a character". Now, it looks like NBC's investment didn't pay off, as Kelly's show was canceled after she made offensive remarks about wearing blackface on Halloween.

The network on Friday again aired a repeat of "Megyn Kelly Today" just as it did Thursday following this week's controversy. So it appears she will not be returning to the show to say goodbye to viewers.

Kelly later apologized to colleagues via email, and on air, saying, "I want to begin with two words: I'm sorry".

Before she ignited controversy this week defending the use of blackface, Kelly and NBC News executives had reportedly been in loose talks to find her a new role at the company amid disappointing ratings from Megyn Kelly Today. Other sources told us Kelly isn't looking to get paid to not work.

Yet another source said that if NBC keeps Kelly, it would be "an Ann Curry situation, where they try to save face and give her some fake job when everybody knows she'll never be seen again at 30 Rock".

NBC had allegedly attempted to squash Farrow's Weinstein exposé, which prompted him to take his story to The New Yorker, where it was ultimately published. "Thank you for listening, and for helping me listen, too".

"Megyn Kelly Today is not returning". "There's the question of the faith and confidence of the public in the reporting of NBC on matters involving itself", she stated at the time.
