Cleveland Browns Fire Head Coach Hue Jackson

Cleveland Browns Fire Head Coach Hue Jackson

After firing Hue Jackson on Monday, the Browns will spend the next few months seeking a permanent replacement, assuming Gregg Williams doesn't keep the job long-term.

The 53-year-old, who took over in January 2016, had a 3-36-1 record in Cleveland and has just 11 wins in 56 games as a head coach (11-44-1). Cleveland was 1-15 in Jackson's first season and 0-16 last season.

Dorsey had the good fortune to partner with a good head coach in Andy Reid when the two joined the Chiefs after the 2012 season.

The last six coaches for the Browns have all been fired following a loss to the Steelers.

Instead of picking sides, Browns ownership and Dorsey decided it was best to fire them both. "We certainly only wish Hue, Michelle, and his family the best moving forward". The arrival of Dorsey suggested otherwise; every G.M. wants to hire his own coach, and Dorsey surely wanted to move on much more quickly from Hue Jackson than Dorsey did.

The Browns started this season 2-2-1, but have lost three straight and struggled badly in a 33-18 loss in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Offensive coordinator Todd Haley was also fired Monday, according to Ian Rapoport.

Following Sunday's game, Jackson downplayed any dispute with his offensive co-ordinator.

They say that wisdom often never comes at all, so it's OK if it arrives late.

"I do not know", Haslam said. Mayfield, the first overall pick In the draft, was caught in the middle with Jackson and Haley.

First reported by notable National Football League insider Ian Rapoport, the Browns will definitely be in more than one coaching market this offseason.
