Alec Baldwin arrested for punching man, who went to hospital

Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday after a fight over a parking spot in New York City, police said. The altercation appears to have started after Baldwin and another man argued over a parking spot.

The incident happened outside Baldwin's New York City apartment in the West Village.

In addition to portraying president Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live", Baldwin now hosts a Sunday talk show on ABC, called "The Alec Baldwin Show".

According to TMZ, Baldwin had a friend holding the spot for him, but a man swooped in and parked.

The Deputy Commissioner of Public Information shared that the actor ended up being charged with harassment and assault and was given a desk appearance ticket. He was ordered to appear in court November 26.

A representative for Baldwin has not yet responded to CNN's request for comment.

Back in 2013, meanwhile, he was caught on camera shouting anti-gay slurs at a photographer outside his apartment in NY - this incident ended in the star's MSNBC show, Up Late With Alec Baldwin, being suspended and eventually cancelled.

The most recent episode, with less than 1.5 million viewers, had the smallest audience of any prime-time program on the top four broadcast networks over the past week, the Nielsen company said.

Baldwin, a Long Island native, is known for a number of starring roles. And in 2014, police arrested Baldwin after he was riding his bike the wrong way on the street and acting belligerent toward officers. I used to hate that.
