Destiny 2 Free on PC Until November 18

In celebration of its annual BlizzCon gaming convention, Blizzard is giving away Destiny 2 for free on its service from today through November 18th. During this period of time, users can claim Bungie's shared-world sci-fi shooter to own. Additionally, new Guardians will have the opportunity to try out Destiny 2: Forsaken's new mode "Gambit", from November 9th through 11th 2018, during the Gambit Free Weekend.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The rather extraordinary giveaway was announced just now, ahead of BlizzCon 2018's opening ceremony, by Steve Cotton, Destiny 2 game director at developer Bungie. When you log into the client, you will be notified of a gift which will allow you to claim the game.

It's a pretty surprising and generous move, but a cunning one, with the game in its best-ever condition and two major rivals - Anthem and the Division 2 - due to launch in the first quarter of next year.

You won't get the Forsaken expansion, of course.

Taking all of this into account, this is a solid deal for PC gamers who have yet to give Destiny 2 a go, as the base content provides a thorough idea of the kind of gameplay that one should expect from the title and its add-ons.
