Minnesota Timberwolves trade Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia 76ers

Minnesota Timberwolves trade Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia 76ers

Jimmy Butler is headed to Philadelphia, ending the weeks-long saga of him wanting out of Minnesota.

"He said he just wants to win", Simmons said before Saturday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. But we've got to figure out a way to do that, man.

ESPN reported that the Timberwolves will receive Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a second-round pick in exchange for Butler.

The Minnesota Timberwolves shook up the National Basketball Association on Saturday afternoon by agreeing to trade disgruntled All-Star forward Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers for a package headlined by Dario Saric and Robert Covington.

Now, it seems his wish has been granted as he was traded to the 76ers. The Sixers (8-5) are now in third place in the Eastern Conference but may have felt they needed more firepower to compete with the Raptors, Bucks and Celtics - three teams of the top five teams in the east that have each handed them one of their five early losses. "They've got Ben and Joel and now you add in Jimmy, I think that is going to be a very, very good team". He had reportedly listed the NY teams, along with the Clippers among his preferred destinations after requesting a trade. But at the same time, I know what I'm good at, I know what I can do on the floor.

But for now, it's time to discuss how each new Timberwolf fits into the Wolves plans for the current season, as well as the near future.

Simmons anticipates that the Sixers' big three would develop chemistry based on a common bond.
