Maurizio Sarri Has One-On-One Meetings Following Loss To Spurs

Kante, widely considered the world's best holding midfielder, has a slightly more attacking role in Chelsea's team this season as Sarri looks to accommodate a more creative deep-lying playmaker in new signing Jorginho.

Despite Giroud's defence of Kante ahead of tomorrow's Europa League visit from PAOK (5.55pm), Sarri was more critical just before.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has blamed three of his teammates for the 3-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in the Premier League at the Wembley.

The worldwide break was mentioned as a potential reason behind Chelsea's laboured performance, with Sarri claiming the number of English players on Tottenham's books provided a small advantage. So they were able to destroy us in 15 minutes, but I saw the same problems also in the match before.

The Frenchman has found game time too hard to come by as Sarri has so much trust in Morata.

While this was Sarri's first loss as Chelsea manager, he admitted that the performance was "a disaster" - a word he used thrice during his post-match press conference.

Italian midfielder, Jorginho has been key to Sarri's system since his days at Napoli - and with good reason. In Italy, if I play in Greece on Thursday I can ask to play on Monday night, but I have to play again in 63 hours. If they want to man-mark Jorginho, Kante can receive the ball.

"It's very hard for me to understand why. And I think this is not one of the best characteristics of Kante, but it was only a reaction to the difficulties".

"I have a meeting of five or 10 minutes with the individuals, individual meetings with the players", he added.

Sarri previously has encouraged Kante to go forward in matches.

Chelsea will be without Eden Hazard as they look to secure first place in their Europa League group.

"He has some qualities that I like very much - his pace and he is not bad in front of goal as well".

"If we are on the left, if the ball is on the left, we have [Marcos] Alonso, [Eden] Hazard, [Mateo] Kovacic, [Ross] Barkley, he has to stay very close to Jorginho".
