'You never listen to me': Macron meets MBS on G20 sidelines

Human Rights Watch has claimed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has moved from a luxury hotel to the nation's embassy in Buenos Aires as Argentine prosecutors had begun a probe into what they described as "Saudi war crimes" in Yemen and alleged human rights abuses, including the recent murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

Democratic Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey said Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman own President Donald Trump and can do whatever they want.

Salman, who has recently been accused by the global community for the ordered killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the country's role in the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

France also imposed sanctions, including travel bans, on 18 Saudi citizens linked to the murder.

Putin and bin Salman are among the two most controversial figures at the summit in Buenos Aires, having both come under worldwide criticism recently, and they seemed to bond over the shared experience.

According to a Guardian analysis of their only partly audible conversation, Macron replies to the crown prince's assurances: "I do worry".

Mr. Trump has given Salman, known by his initials as MBS, the benefit of the doubt over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, arguing the U.S. Saudi Arabia has denied that.

Further in the clip, which lasts one-minute and was posted on Twitter, Mr Macron rebukes the Saudi leader for not appreciating his advice. Operatives with ties to the Crown Prince have been arrested over the killing.

"I am a man of my word", Macron adds.

The Crown Prince told Modi he would soon be finalizing an initial investment in India's National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, a quasi-sovereign wealth fund, to help accelerate the building of ports, highways and other projects.

Last week the US President said "it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge" of the planning and execution of Mr Khashoggi's murder, but that the US meant to "remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia". In fact, Trump even cancelled a formal sit-down with Putin over Moscow's seizure of Ukrainian vessels.

A senior White House official said the two exchanged pleasantries.
