Premier League leaders Manchester City will also face second-tier opposition in Rotherham as do Manchester United, who are at home to Reading.

Huddersfield Town, Yorkshire's sole top flight representative, head to Bristol City, while Hull City and Leeds United are bound for the capital to tackle Millwall and QPR respectively.

The Reds had beaten Colchester United 1-0 in the first round last month and will now come up against former players Kayden Jackson and Janoi Donacien who left the Wham Stadium for East Anglia in the summer.

An all-Yorkshire tie is also a possibility after the winners of next Tuesday's replay between Bradford City and Peterborough United were handed a trip to Middlesbrough.

The Premier League and the Championship sides join the fray at the third round, and smaller clubs will be hoping for a draw against one of the big teams of the English game.

The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has been conducted this evening and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City have discovered their fate.

The shimmering reward for Southport, the Vanarama National League North side, if they overcome Tranmere Rovers, of Sky Bet League Two, in a replay will be a home tie against Mauricio Pochettino's team.
