Parents Of Child Who Spoke To Trump About Santa Speak Out

A video of President Donald Trump asking a 7-year-old SC girl if she still believes in Santa Claus went viral this week, resulting in newfound criticism of the president.

Instantly, Twitter was filled with messages railing against Mr Trump for sounding as if he was casting doubts on a cherished fantasy of childhood. Trump asked the girl.

Trump replied, "Because at 7, that's marginal, right?"

As part of his Christmas Eve duties, Trump took a call Monday night from Collman Lloyd of Lexington, who had phoned the North American Aerospace Defense Command - which has operated a Santa tracker since 1955 - looking for St. Nick, The Post and Courier reported.

"It wasn't really [nerve-wracking], I just had to think of what the truth was".

She told BuzzFeed that she didn't understand what the president was trying to say - and especially doesn't know what the word "marginal" means.

President Donald Trump did the unthinkable while taking calls about Santa on Christmas Eve: He asked a young girl if Santa Claus was real. She said she wished she had asked him about his family. As the Pentagon's handbook reads: "Historical data and more than 60 years of NORAD tracking information lead us to believe Santa Claus is alive and well in the hearts of people throughout the world".

Marginal or not, the next morning the food was gone and presents were under the tree.

Trump was heard asking another child, "What's Santa going to get you for Christmas? It's Christmastime. I'd love to keep politics out of Christmas", Donald Lloyd said.

"It made [Collman's] Christmas", Erica asserted about the call.

By the end of the phone call, Trump returned to more traditional conversational fare, telling Coleman, "Well, honey, happy Christmas".

The Trumps later travelled to Washington National Cathedral to attend the Solemn Holy Eucharist of Christmas Eve.

But if you ask the kids themselves, it turns out age 7 is a crucial age for children in deciding what exactly the deal is with Santa. That budget included $5 billion for the border wall.
